Day 4-10 - Kuwait

Well during my stop off in Kuwait, for my processing before going to Iraq, I was able to see more of Kuwait the country and military bases this time around, instead of just Kuwait city (which was back in 1999). Well I was in Camp Virginia for a couple days, living in 10 man tents, before we moved to Camp Beurhing for the last bit of advance in-country trainings (convoy, helo, weapons, IED, and coalition forces recognization). Just basically more training to expound upon the trainings we have already received but more specific to the area than anything else.Camp Beurhing has been getting some sand storms the past few days (Tuesday being the worst of it). The rest of the time has been spent inside the 40 man tents, sleeping, watching movie and trying to get on the internet (Wi-fi signal sucks inside the tents).Late Tuesday night we caught a C-17 up to Taji.

Day 1 & 2 - International flight - Day 3 - Rest up

Well flew out from Fort Bliss in the late afternoon, called a few people to wish them goodbye one last time. After 2 re-fuelings and 21 hours later, landed in Kuwait. Then a long vehicle ride to the local base, sorted out the baggage and located our sleeping arrangement in a 10 man tent all done in time to make morning chow. Then spent the part of the day resting and getting oriented to this time zone. (whichi is 8 hours ahead of the Eastern time zone) In the afternoon spent exploring the base, getting some chow and then found a place for me to get on the internet.

My 32nd Birthday

Happy Birthday to me, this day back in 1976 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver, CO at 12:10am, Bloody Z was born. As the sun set this day, the full moon was rising, I was told by my father many years later the moon looked blood red as it rose into the sky. Dad like to say I was born in the year of the Dragon under a red full moon.

30 Pack Beer Marathon

Yes, I have survived the 30 Pack Beer Marathon in Tucson, AZ on the 27th of July. My weekend leading up to this event went like this... So Friday after work drove down to Tuscon in a 11 hrs. went drinking that night with Stella the Udderly bi-fella, Klitty Litter, & Go Fuck Yourself, till almost closing. So on Saturday morning at 6am, was pounding on Stella's door in the morning & draging him to the Huachuca H3 hash in Sierra Vista which started at 8am (a little over a 4 mile trail), then back to Tucson for the Beer Mile at 3am (where I ran a 10:22 beer mile) and then to the Tucson H3 hash at 5am (which was about 6 miles).

Then on Sunday there was the 30 Pack Beer Marathon at the Meet Rack. For a 30 Pack Beer Marathon you have to drink a beer for every lap (each lap was .9041 mile) 29 times and you start off with a beer... There was about 2 dozen that started, less than five said they wanted to go the distance and do the whole marathon, most wanted to just survive by doing the Half Marathon. My first 10 beers were On-On Ale in a can the othe 20 beers were Pabst Blue Ribbon. After about the 10th lap everyone said they were doing the half, with the exception of Dr. Slow Ride, Bunker Beater, & myself. By the time I reached the half way mark, there was only two hashers that had finished the Half Marathon (C.H.A.S.E? & New Car Smell), I think I might have been 3rd or 4th, I don't know... After the half Dr. Slow Ride started to really slowdown, leaving me all alone to finish the 30 Pack Beer Marathon in 7 hours 26 minutes 17 seconds. The offical results were recorded by Charlotte the Harlot. There is a good 3 minute plus video post on the jHavelina H3 Hash Space page, as well as the CNN video.
